Suryanarayanasastri Vasa (1882-1961)

Suryanarayanasastri Vasa (sooryanaaraayanasaastri vaasaa) was born in 1882 in Potayavalasa in Visakhapatnam District. His parents were Venkataramayya and Venkamma of Kasalanati Brahmin community. He learned Sanskrit in Saluru.

He served as a Sanskrit pundit for ten years in a Sanskrit school in Lakshminarasapeta town. Then, he worked as a Telugu teacher for 18 years in a high school in Parlakimidi. His works include taataa subbaraayasaastri charitra, kaaseenaadhuni naageswararaaya charitra, charakhaavratam, sreenivaasa vibhooti, kapaaleswara vibhooti, loakamaanya baalagangaadharatilak charitra in Sanskrit and Telugu, and koadamdaraama satakam, sreesailamallikhaarjunaswaami suprabhaatam, a critique on prabhaavati pradyumnam etc. in Telugu.
