Sundararamamurti Kasisomayajula (1868-1938)

Sundararamamurti Kasisomayajula was born in 1868 in Visakhapattanam in a Brahmin family. His father, Narappa, used to work in the district munsif court. Sundararamamurti completed his elementary and high school education in local schools and finished his matriculation from Hindu College in Visakhapattanam. He finished his FA in Vijayanagaram. Later he joined Saidapet Teacher Training College and obtained Collegiate Trained Teachers Certificate.

Sundararamamurti worked for various schools which include the college established the King of Pithapuram in Kakinada, Kotaramachandrapuram National High School, High School in Tuni established the king of Tuni, Mrs. AVS College in Visakhapattanam, and the college established by the king in Visakhapattanam. During this period, he continued his education part-time and finished his BA and MA. Sundararamamurti was a pundit in five languages: English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Odhra. He was also a chess player and portrait painter. He had correspondence on painting with famous Indian painter Ravi Varma. He wrote poetry in English. His Highness Sir Ananda Gajapati gave him a position in his college as an English teacher and respected him.Sundararamamurti used to travel with the king.

His literary works include poetry in English on kanyakaparameswari and the birth of vikramaditya. His Telugu works include dramas such as harischandra, savitri, uttama vanchakudu, and lavangee punditrayalu.
