Subbaramayya Gannavarapu (1890-1963)
Subbaramayya Gannavarapu was born in Surappagraharam
in 1890. His father died when he was two years old. He grew up in the lap
of his grandfather while learning Sanskrit and Andhra. He learned Malayalam,
Tamil, Kannada and English in Chennai. He worked at a library and then at
Andhra Academy of Literature in Chennai. His friends were Prabhakarasastri
Veturi, Venkatrayasastri Vedam, Nageswararao Kasinadhuni etc in Chennai.
He became the first editor of the journal Bharathi founded by Kasinadhuni.
