Narasimhasastri Chimtalapalli was a Telugu pundit in the Municipal High
School at Ballari. He was also a writer and essayist. He wrote several essays
on literature and participated in the Telugu literary movement in the early
20th century. His writings include citraketu caritra, (based on
Veeresalingam's "liyarraaju" which in turn was based on Shakespeare's
King Lear) which was taught as part of Telugu curriculum at the Municipal
High School at Ballari; malayavati (based on Sanskrit "naagaanamdamu");
pranayamahima (probably based on his personal experience); and eeswarasthavamu
(a satakamu - a collection of one hundred verses).
