Memorial Annual Lectures
This annual lecture started with a National Symposium on Proteomics
on September 5, 2003 on Teacher's day to in memory of the founder's father
and teacher Sri Gopalkishanrao Vepachedu. The endowment fund (Indian
rupees 1.5 lakh) for this program was provided by VEFI founder's
mother Satyavatidevi Vepachedu, with the help of founder's brother, Dr.
Ramarao Vepachedu, who did his PhD at Osmania University. The
funds for the award for the speaker and other expenses are covered by the
interest accrued by the endowment fund.At Biochemistry Department Osmania University, Hyderabad 1) The First SGVM Memorial Lecture On September 5th 2003- "TEACHERS’ DAY" Speaker: Professor Muralidhar K., Chairman, Biol Sci, Delhi University. Other speakers on the occasion were: Professor Balaram P., Divisional Chairman, Biol. Sci., I.I.Sc; Professor Balasubramanian, D., Director, LVPEI; Dr. Seyed E. Hasnain, Director, CDFD; Dr. Raghavan K. V., (former) Director, IICT. 2) 2nd Presentation: September 5, 2004, Teacher's Day: Speaker: Dr Balaram, Director of Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore. 3) 3rd Presentation: September 5, 2005, Teacher's Day Speaker: Dr. Sivakumar Bhattiprolu, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. Topic: “Adolescent Nutrition as the Focus to achieve National Nutrition Goals” 4) 4th Presentation: September 5, 2006, Teacher's Day Speaker: Dr Gourishanker J., Director, Centre for DNA Finger Printing and Diagnostics, at Prof. M. L. N. Reddy Hall, University College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad. 5) 5th Presentation (2007). Prof. Ramarao Athota, a biochemist and Vice-Chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, at the University College of Science, OU. Topic: ‘The Ill Effects of Immune System,’ research associated with immune system in specific autoimmune diseases and the role of T-cells and B-cells. |

VEFI - Venkataramayya and Lalithamma
Kandukuri Memorial Lecture
At Kakatiya University, Warangal Vepachedu Educational Foundation Inc. (VEFI) established “VEFI - Venkataramayya and Lalithamma Kandukuri Memorial Lecture" beginning in 2008 at Kaktiya University, Warangal. This annual lecture will be on November 15th every year. Funds for this annual lecture were provided by the founder's mother, Mrs. Satyavathidevi Vepachedu in memory of her parents Venkataramayya and Lalithamma Kandukuri. |
