Sri Gopalkishanrao Vepachedu
Memorial Annual Lectures
At Biochemistry Department
Osmania University, Hyderabad
This annual lecture started with a National Symposium on Proteomics
on September 5, 2003 on Teacher's day to in memory of the founder's father
and teacher Sri Gopalkishanrao Vepachedu. The endowment fund (Indian
rupees 1.5 lakh) for this program was provided by VEFI founder's
mother Satyavatidevi Vepachedu, with the help of founder's brother, Dr.
Ramarao Vepachedu, who did his PhD at Osmania University. The
funds for the award for the speaker and other expenses are covered by the
interest accrued by the endowment fund.

Speaker: Dr Balaram, Director of Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore.
3) 3rd Presentation: September 5, 2005, Teacher's Day
Speaker: Dr. Sivakumar
Bhattiprolu, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad.
Topic: “Adolescent Nutrition as the Focus to achieve National Nutrition Goals”
4) 4th Presentation: September 5, 2006, Teacher's Day
Speaker: Dr Gourishanker J., Director, Centre for DNA Finger Printing and Diagnostics,
at Prof. M. L. N. Reddy Hall, University College of Science, Osmania University,
Hyderabad.
5) 5th Presentation (2007). Prof. Ramarao Athota, a biochemist
and Vice-Chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, at the
University College of Science, OU.
Topic: ‘The Ill Effects of Immune System,’ research associated with immune
system in specific autoimmune diseases and the role of T-cells and B-cells.

Memorial Annual Lectures
At Andhra
Pradesh Akademy of Sciences, Hyderabad
VEFI established another annual lecture, at
Andhra Pradesh Akademy of Sciences (APAS), Hyderabad. Endowment
Fund (Indian rupees 1.575 lakh) for this program
were provided by VEFI founder . The funds for the award
for the speaker and other expenses are covered by the interest accrued
by the endowment fund. The first annual lecture was in
January 2004. This was possible due to the keen interest taken by Dr.
K. V. Raghavan, former director of IICT and Chairman of APAS,
and Dr. VM Sharma Gangavaram, Vice President of VEFI..

2) The Second Lecture "INNOVATIVE CATALYSTS FOR GREENER
CHEMISTRY" was delivered by Dr B. M. Choudary delivered on February
25, 2005 at Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh.
3) The Third Lecture by Dr.
Venkata Ramarao Alla (AV Ramarao) on February 27, 2006, at CPMB Auditorium,
Osmania University, Hyderabad. Title of the talk: Synthesis of Natural
Products with Difference.
4) The Fourth Lecture by Dr. Tushar K. Chakraborti (2007).

VEFI - Venkataramayya and Lalithamma
Kandukuri Memorial Lecture
At Kakatiya University, Warangal
Vepachedu Educational Foundation Inc. (VEFI) established “VEFI - Venkataramayya
and Lalithamma Kandukuri Memorial Lecture" beginning in 2008 at Kaktiya University,
Warangal. This annual lecture will be on November 15th every year.
Funds for this annual lecture were provided by the founder's mother, Mrs.
Satyavathidevi Vepachedu in memory of her parents Venkataramayya and Lalithamma
Kandukuri.
